To the visitors of this site, how are you, i do not forget to thank those of you who have visited this site. Through this site, I will share the results of experiments that I am working on fpga applications in digital electronics systems. This site specifically for those of you who have a hobby of building electronics systems, particularly digital electronics. The contents of this site contains all of what I do in the experiment to build electronic systems using FPGA. Every experimental results are described in simple and easy to learn and straightforward to do yourself. 

Basic understanding of FPGA

FPGA stands for Field Programmable Gate Array, an electronic components made using leading edge technology contains a large number of logic gates are arranged in an array therein. A collection of logic gates within the FPGA can be built into a logic circuit in accordance with the requirement by using a programming language VHDL or Verilog HDL. Later can be built using C language as used to create computer software. FPGA can be defined simply, an electronic component that contains a large array of logic gates can be built into a logic circuit to your own taste by using programming languages such as VHDL or Verilog HDL, or the latest in C language for FPGA such as SystemC.

This means that FPGAs internally can be assembled become a digital circuit in accordance with your design , later can removed and changed to another circuit with a new design.  So the FPGA can be used repeatedly or programmable into various electronic circuits, of course not unlimited, the complexity of circuits that can be built in it depends on the ability of the FPGA or FPGA type used. Every kind and type of FPGA has its own ability to serve as a complex electronic circuit. The following figure is an fpga illustration, an electronic component involves a series of logic gates that can be assembled into a digital electronic circuit according to application needs.

So in a simple sense, you can build a digital electronic circuit according to your design using FPGA components through programming languages such as VHDL and Verilog HDL. Then the design programmed into the FPGA using the appropriate programming tools.

    saya mahasiswa TEUB pak, mau membuat skripsi tentang FPGA yang di fungsikan sebagai filter digital. yang mau saya tanyakan, bagaimana cara menginterface kan IC ADC dengan FPGA, saya mohon bantuan pak. terima kasih sebelumnya..wassalam..

    • anda harus mengetahui timing dari adc, kemudian bisa menginterprestasikan dengan bahasa VHDL atau verilog. dalam thesis saya saya menggunakan ADC dan DAC dari MAXIM. saya sering memberikan konsultasi kepada mahasiswa khususnya dimalang.

    assalamu’alaikum pak..
    saya mahasiswi semester akhir yang sementara mengerjakan tugas akhir.. TA saya mengenai pengkodean kanal Reed solomon dengan menggunakan FPGA Altera (Cyclone II) dalam hal ini yang akan kami kodekan adalah citra (image). masalahnya disini citra tersebut akan diambil dari komputer untuk dimasukkan ke board FPGA, dan untuk tahap pemrogramannya saya masih bingung pak..apa bapak ada saran ?
